Students of ATU Nұrzhan Zhұmahan (TMZh-13-11), Altynbek Nurlybek (AzhB-14-11), Talgat Tulbaev (AiU-14-2), members of the RoboLab Robotics Robotics Laboratory team of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies won 1 place in Kazakhstan in the contest of free robotics “RoboFabrika” (nomination “Project”), and showing high results in the qualifying stages of the 10th International IT Olympiad “IT-Planet 2016/17”, were invited to participate in the finals held from 2 to 5 June 2017 on the basis of the Russian International of Olympic University in Sochi.
About 400 young IT specialists aged under 26 from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan became the participants of the final, who showed the best results in the qualifying stages in the nominations “Programming”, “Cloud computing and databases”, “Telecom” “Mobile platform”, “Digital creativity”, “Free Software and robotics” and “Usability”.
The team of students participating in the finals of the X International Olympiad in Information Technology «IT-planet 2016/17″ was accompanied by the dean of the faculty “Engineering and Information Technologies” B.E. Erenova.
Students defended the honor of the university in the contest of free robotics “RoboFabrika” in the nomination “Project” and presented the robot “EasyBot”, developed by the students in the robotics training laboratory “RoboLab” to the experts.
In addition to the competitions themselves, the finalists were given the opportunity to attend master classes, training seminars, lectures from experts in the IT field and personal communication with partners olympiads – large employers and representatives of vendors.
According to the results of the finals of the X International IT Olympics “IT-Planet 2016/17” students, members of the RoboLab Robotics Robotics Laboratory team of the Engineering and Information Technologies Faculty took the 3rd place and were awarded with the medal “Discover Your Planet”, Diplomas of the winner and memorable prizes.
